Specifically, the epidemic appeared in 2 villages, Thai Son and Thai Hoa, with 8 buffaloes and cows infected. Previously, these cattle had symptoms of not eating, high fever, and many large and small lumps on their bodies, so the authorities quarantined them and took samples. It is known that Mon Son is one of the communes with the largest herd of buffalo and cattle in Con Cuong district with about 4,000 heads. "The whole district has a total herd of over 30,000 buffaloes and cows. Animal husbandry is one of the main industries of the highland people here. Therefore, when the epidemic broke out, Con Cuong district directed Mon Son commune to isolate and quarantine infected livestock. Communes in the epidemic-threatened areas such as Luc Da,Chau Khe... also need to increase propaganda to raise people's awareness of disease prevention. Currently, the district is directing communes to count the total herd and register for large-scale lumpy skin disease vaccination.
As of April 8, the disease has appeared in 18/21 districts, cities and towns with a total of nearly 1,000 infected cattle. There are only 3 localities that have not had the disease: Yen Thanh, Tuong Duong and Ky Son. The provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine has provided 100,000 doses of vaccine for localities to simultaneously vaccinate against this disease.
