In addition, if the prescribed holidays coincide with weekly holidays, employees will be compensated for the following day off. Therefore, this year, cadres, civil servants, public employees and employees in administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, socio-political organizations; employees working at establishments with 2 days off/week (off every Saturday and Sunday): Employees will be given September 4 off to compensate for September 2 because it falls on Saturday, so the National Day holiday will be 3 consecutive days off, from Saturday, September 2 to Monday, September 4, 2017.

For employees working at units with 1 day off/week (weekly Sunday off): 2 consecutive days off, from Saturday 29th to Sunday 3rd September 2017 (no compensatory day off on Monday 4th September).

Since 2017, the Prime Minister has agreed with the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to abolish the swapping of working days so that workers can have consecutive days off during holidays and Tet. The swapping of working days during holidays and Tet has been implemented since 2010 and was temporarily stopped at the end of 2016./.
