Do Luong organizes ceremony to confer title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother
On January 17, Do Luong district held a ceremony to posthumously confer the State honorary title “Heroic Vietnamese Mother” and the Independence Medal to 15 families of martyrs. The ceremony was attended by district leaders, leaders of communes and towns, relatives of “Heroic Vietnamese Mothers” and families of martyrs.
At the ceremony, representatives of the Party Committee and the government of Do Luong district approved the President's Decision on posthumously awarding the State honorary title "Heroic Vietnamese Mother" to Ms. Le Thi Long, born on April 5, 1902 in Long Son, Bac Son commune, Do Luong.

Mrs. Long's husband was Mr. Hoang Tran Dau - Secretary of the Bach Thuoc village Party Cell. In 1930, her husband was imprisoned by the French and died after being brutally tortured by the enemy. She lost her husband at a very young age, but she stayed single to raise her children and actively participated in the revolutionary movement, hiding Party cadres. In 1949, her second son, Hoang Tan Trinh, died on the Vietnam - Laos front. In 1953, her eldest son, Hoang Tran Thinh, also died due to serious injuries sustained in combat.
Mrs. Long held many positions such as: Captain of the Dang Lam Red Guard, Member of the Viet Minh Village Committee... From 1955 to 1968, she worked at the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union. In 1968, she retired, in 1987 she was awarded the Second Class Resistance Medal, and in 1995 she passed away.
Authorized by the President and Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, the leaders of Do Luong district awarded the State honorary title "Heroic Vietnamese Mother" Le Thi Long to relatives of mother Le Thi Long.

Also at the ceremony, after approving the President's Decision, authorized by superiors, representatives of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Do Luong district awarded the Third Class Independence Medal to 15 families of martyrs in Do Luong district.
The organization of the ceremony to posthumously confer the State honorary title "Heroic Vietnamese Mother" and award the Independence Medal to the families of martyrs demonstrated the Party, State and People's remembrance of the great contributions of Vietnamese Mothers and families of martyrs who have made many contributions and sacrifices for the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.
Through the ceremony, we aim to promote and educate the revolutionary tradition, patriotism, and the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" of the nation.
