Ho Chi Minh City delegation visits and encourages people in flood-hit Ky Son area
(Baonghean.vn) - On behalf of the city's officials and people, comrade Tran Kim Yen sent condolences and shared about the damage and loss that Ky Son people experienced during the recent heavy rain and flash floods.
On the afternoon of October 6, the delegation of the City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City led by comrade Tran Kim Yen - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City went directly to the border district of Ky Son - Nghe An to visit and support families affected by the flash flood that occurred in the early morning of October 2.

The Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City directly visited and encouraged households affected by flash floods in Hoa Son, Son Ha, Binh Son villages, Ta Ca commune. Here, Comrade Tran Kim Yen presented 30 gifts, each worth 2 million VND, to 30 households that suffered heavy damage caused by floods.

On behalf of the city’s officials and people, comrade Tran Kim Yen sent condolences and shared the damage and loss that Nghe An people experienced during the recent floods; at the same time, he believed that with the spirit of solidarity and resilience, Nghe An people will overcome the difficult period and soon stabilize their lives.
Previously, in the early morning of October 2, in Ta Ca commune, Ky Son district, flash floods occurred, causing landslides and flooding the road from Muong Xen town to Tay Son commune. Many sections of Muong Xen town were flooded knee-deep, and many agencies and offices were also flooded. The floods caused 55 houses to be washed away and completely collapsed; 141 houses were severely damaged and 36 houses had to be urgently evacuated... the damage has not yet been fully quantified.

After 4 days of the historic flash flood in Ky Son district, although the floodwaters have receded, the lives of the people are still facing difficulties and shortages. These days, organizations, unions, military and security forces and villagers are working together to help overcome the damage. People and vehicles of volunteer groups are also heading to the border district of Ky Son...
