Khe Thoi Hydropower Project has a total investment of 463 billion VND, a power generation capacity of 12 MW, a total land area of 82 hectares, of which nearly 38 hectares are natural forest. After nearly 4 years of construction, the project has completed over 95% of the volume and is expected to generate electricity in September 2019. However, due to procedures related to forest land conversion, the plant has not been able to store water and generate electricity to the system.
Regarding Chi Khe Hydropower Plant, although the plant has been operating and generating electricity since June 2018, due to the 110 KV line capacity not being guaranteed (overloaded), like some other plants, Chi Khe Hydropower Plant was forced to cut its generating capacity from 42 MW to 25 MW, leading to a decrease in electricity production. In addition, when the plant stored water at an elevation of 38m, some landslides and flooded roads occurred, affecting people's traffic.
