On the last day of May, as the afternoon approached, the number of computers brought by students increased. As one of the few female members of the Computer Rescue Team, Nguyen Thi Hoai - a student of K57, Information Technology, Institute of Engineering and Technology, Vinh University, said that she has been in the team for more than a year and a half.
When she first joined, Hoai was only assigned to the secretary department, responsible for receiving, labeling, and initially checking customers. A long time later, she was given further guidance from the team members and allowed to fix hardware and software errors.
“Although the work is free, all members repair very carefully and thoroughly. Because if the machine breaks, the repairmen must take responsibility, and even pay to repair the machine for the customer,” Hoai said.

Hoang Ngoc Thang, a student of K56 majoring in Information Technology, Institute of Technology, Vinh University, and leader of the Computer Rescue Team, said that currently, most students have computers for studying and entertainment purposes. Obviously, during use, it is inevitable that there will be breakdowns, computer problems, or more simply, many students need to clean their computers, install software, remove viruses, etc. Therefore, the purpose of the team is to support, advise, and repair for free to help students.
The computer rescue team was established in 2009, but it was not until 2013 that the team became active and left an impression on students in the school.
“In fact, when it first started operating, many students did not really trust the rescue team to repair their computers. However, after a long time of persistently and carefully implementing the method effectively, more and more students learned about it and came to the team for help.”

Every month, the Computer Rescue Team will organize repairs once. There are months when the number of students coming to have their computers repaired can reach 70 or 80 people in a day. According to Thang, the team only has 18 members divided into departments such as secretary, reception, initial inspection, and repair, so most of the members are always busy.
On weekdays, if you need to repair or have questions about your computer, students can contact the rescue team for advice and repair minor errors via TeamViewer remote computer control software. Of course, this activity is also completely free. And since the Computer Rescue Team started operating until now, the team has repaired thousands of computers for free for students of Vinh University.

Not only stopping at computer repair activities, the team members also coordinate with clubs to support free IT teaching for students of the school. Most recently, the captain of the Computer Rescue Team also established the "Computer Rescue - Programming with Love" fund to help students in difficult circumstances.
“Although the fund has only been established for a few months, it has received enthusiastic support from teachers and friends. The team has given the first donation to a student in difficult circumstances in the department. In the future, the team will try to have more activities, raising funds to help more difficult circumstances in the school,” Thang confided.
