Making science and technology the driving force for development
(Baonghean.vn) - During the question and answer session on the afternoon of July 19 at the 6th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council, the Directors of the Departments of Industry and Trade, Science and Technology answered practical questions. The question and answer session was broadcast live and attracted the attention of many voters in the province.
Voter Nguyen Doan Xuong - Truong Thi ward (Vinh city):
Hopefully the solutions proposed during the questioning session will be quickly implemented.
Following the entire question and answer session this afternoon (July 19), in the question and answer session on Science and Technology (S&T), I saw that the report of the Director of the Department of Science and Technology clearly stated the picture of S&T in the province. The question and answer session also helped voters and people understand the policy priorities and state management responsibilities of the S&T sector in contributing to making S&T become the driving force for the development of the country and the province.
The content of the questions and answers were very frank and responsible. The questions of the delegates were focused and key. In response to the delegates' questions about the application of scientific topics, the Director of the Department of Science and Technology admitted that some specific scientific research topics in the field of social sciences and humanities, or some topics in the field of traditional medicine, were very difficult to evaluate the effectiveness in a specific period of time; there were difficulties in connecting with businesses.
I believe that the issues that the Director of the Department of Science and Technology answered are also the issues that society is raising and that voters are concerned about. What people and society expect most is that the solutions proposed in the question and answer session at this meeting will be quickly implemented, meeting the legitimate demands and aspirations of voters, especially making science and technology truly become the driving force for development of the province.

As a farmer, I see that recently the province has focused on implementing models of applying science and technology to production, especially agricultural production, attracting businesses to invest in the agricultural sector.
I was very impressed with the delegates' questioning session, because most of the delegates' questions were very focused, true to reality, and the people's expectations. In addition to focusing on the effective application of scientific research topics into practice, the delegates' questions focused on the application of science and technology in agricultural production to create new plant and animal varieties, linking production with consumption, building brands, sustainable agricultural models, and avoiding the situation of "good harvest, low price".
That shows that the delegates participating in the questioning have a deep understanding of the voters' thoughts and aspirations.
I also appreciate that in addition to frankly recognizing and assessing the limitations of the field of science and technology, including the responsibility of the Department of Science and Technology, the Director of the Department has proposed many specific and feasible solutions to continue to overcome the limitations and shortcomings that delegates mentioned during the questioning session.
I am very satisfied and look forward to the solutions presented in the response to the question of the Director of the Department of Science and Technology. Especially for farmers like us, we hope that the province will apply science and technology to build sustainable agricultural models, improve productivity and quality of agricultural products.

Voter Nguyen Thi Song Huong - Lecturer of Analytical Accounting Faculty, Nghe An University of Economics: Science and Technology tasks must have a synchronous and interconnected scale.
At the question session of the Director of the Department of Science and Technology, I was very interested in the issue: the effectiveness of applying scientific research topics to real life. This is an issue that the whole society, especially those who regularly do scientific research, are interested in.
Through following the questioning session, I saw that the concerns were explained by the Director of the Department of Science and Technology, clarifying the current situation, causes and providing specific, feasible solutions for the coming time.
As a lecturer whose teaching job is associated with scientific research, the practical issues raised by delegates are lessons for us and scientists to have a clearer and more synchronous orientation in implementing research on scientific topics. Clearly define that the connection between scientists and people must be really tight. S&T tasks must have a synchronous and linked scale, and at the same time not only develop in quantity, but the quality must be further improved, and quickly applied in practice.
