After two years of construction, Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company, a member of The Vissai Cement Group, has made rapid progress by successively putting into operation a cluster of projects, including: Song Lam Cement Factory (in Do Luong District); Nghi Thiet Cement Grinding Station and Vissai Seaport (in Nghi Loc District).
The total investment cost for the above projects is over 13,000 billion VND. That demonstrates the investment capacity and determination of The Vissai Cement Group in putting the projects into operation soon, creating new position and strength for the Group; at the same time contributing to promoting socio-economic development in Nghe An and neighboring areas.
In the above mentioned projects, there is a close connection between production and supply of products to domestic and international markets. If the factories demonstrate production capacity, the port helps Vissai products and brand reach out to large markets.
In fact, viewed from above, the 2,000-meter-long wharf looks like a “strongman’s arm” reaching out to the East Sea, with the capacity to serve 70,000-ton ships loading and unloading goods. Currently, the wharf is mainly serving the transportation of Clinker and cement to domestic regions and for export.
In phase 2, this port cluster is building 2 more general ports, becoming a multi-purpose international seaport. The advantage of the sea here is that it has a natural depth of 9m, after dredging the channel, it can serve ships over 100,000 tons to dock.

The event of putting Vissai Wharf No. 1 and No. 2 into operation has added strength to "reach the sea" for The Vissai Cement Group. The benefits are not only for the group but also impact the socio-economic development of Nghe An and the provinces in the North Central region.
This is also one of the projects that contributes to Nghe An in promoting the implementation of the goals of Resolution 26 of the Politburo on building Nghe An by 2020. At the same time, it concretizes the policy of the Party and State in focusing on investing in renovating, upgrading, and building new seaports of national and international scale nationwide, creating positive changes in the development of the marine economy;
At the same time, implementing Decision 1037/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister issued on June 24, 2014 approving the adjustment of the Planning for the development of Vietnam's seaport system to 2020, with a vision to 2030, develop ports capable of receiving large-capacity ships of up to 100,000 tons or larger in all three regions of the North, Central and South.

The seaport, when put into operation, will promote the works and factories of the company in particular and the province in general, opening up many opportunities for the socio-economic development of Nghe An province. In particular, in the long term, the port will be upgraded to an international port with logistics services towards the comprehensive development of multimodal transport, creating a "push" for the development of the North Central provinces and promoting economic exchanges with countries in the region...".
