Ending a series of 4 consecutive days of decline, today's coffee prices in the Central Highlands region increased again following the general trend of the world market.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luan, founder of the Meet More fruit coffee brand (HCMC), predicted that although coffee prices are at a high level, it will be difficult to break the price records set in recent times. However, Mr. Luan also believes that in this case, if Vietnamese coffee prices decrease, they will not be able to fall below VND100,000/kg, at least until the end of the first quarter of 2025, when Vietnam is still the main coffee supplier in the world.

The main reason pointed out by Mr. Luan is that coffee production has improved while the world economy is in difficulty, consumers are very concerned about price when shopping.

"With the current high price of coffee ingredients, consumers should be wary of products with unusually low prices because it is unclear what ingredients they contain," Mr. Luan warned.

Coffee prices on the world market also fluctuate:

Robusta Coffee (London):

March 2025 delivery: Up 11 USD/ton, to 4,923 USD/ton.

Delivery in May 2025: Up 21 USD/ton, to 4,877 USD/ton.

Arabica Coffee (New York):

March 2025 delivery: Down 3.15 cents/lb, to 327.3 cents/lb.

May 2025 delivery: Down 2.75 cents/lb, to 323.3 cents/lb.

Robusta coffee prices have hit a record high in 2024, while arabica coffee has also seen a sharp increase, reaching its highest level since 1977, according to Rabobank.

For robusta coffee, while Vietnam and Indonesia remain major suppliers, Vietnam's strong export growth and Brazil's robusta production are creating fierce competition.

With supplies limited, the rising prices of both Arabica and Robusta coffee reflect the level of tension in the global coffee market in 2024.
