Director of Nghe An Department of Health: Officers on duty at quarantine areas must not be subjective

COn the afternoon of August 7, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghe An province, Director of Nghe An Department of Health inspected the quarantine area at Son Thanh Commune Kindergarten and worked with Yen Thanh district.

Attending the inspection and working session were representatives of the Nghe An Department of Health; Nghe An Center for Disease Control; and members of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Yen Thanh district.

In the 4th wave of Covid-19 epidemic, Son Thanh commune (Yen Thanh) had 14 infected cases.Covid-19. Of which, 11 infected cases are citizens from the provinces.southand there are patients who are quarantined until the 14th day before getting sick.

At the Son Thanh Kindergarten Quarantine Area, a cross-infection occurred when on August 6, 3 officers on duty there were confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 (there were 22 F1 cases related to these 3 cases and all were quarantined, with the first test results negative for SARS-CoV-2 virus).

Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh and leaders of Yen Thanh district and health agencies have inspected and carefully evaluated the cause of cross-infection at the quarantine area of ​​Son Thanh Commune Kindergarten; and given instructions to promptly overcome the above situation.

The cause of cross-infection may come from direct contact between quarantine workers and patients; from improper waste treatment.

"The forces performing tasks at the quarantine area need to learn from the experience of cross-infection in Son Thanh: Do not be subjective in any situation; ensure good protection, avoid infection...", Mr. Chinh said and said that the Management Board needs to clearly divide each quarantine area, depending on the time of receiving citizens returning from the epidemic area; and carry out well the spraying of disinfectants and sterilization as soon as an infection case appears.

The district is quarantining 1,160 people in centralized quarantine; 561 people in 39 communes and towns are quarantined at home. In the past 3 days, Yen Thanh has welcomed nearly 300 citizens from southern provinces to carry out medical quarantine. Currently, the number of people quarantined in the locality continues to increase.

Mr. Tuyen proposed the provinceNghe AnContinue to effectively set up checkpoints to control people returning from epidemic areas in both directions, North and South; consider the new school year opening date appropriately as schools in the area are currently in quarantine.

The health sector has done a good job of training on epidemic prevention knowledge for the force performing tasks in the quarantine area; not organizing quarantine for F1 and people returning from epidemic areas at the health station to ensure good medical examination, treatment and epidemic prevention in the area.

The Director of the Department of Health called on the entire political and social system of Yen Thanh district to actively participate, focus on epidemic prevention; proactively do a good job of "4 on-site" work to prevent epidemics; promote the role and responsibility of leaders; epidemic prevention must rely on the people, promote the role of community Covid teams to detect people returning from epidemic areas.

The authorities in the district have raised their vigilance and done a good job of investigating and tracing cases related to the infection. Quarantine areas in Yen Thanh district need to continue to be arranged scientifically to avoid cross-infection; it is necessary to consider isolating people returning from epidemic areas at their households. The district has strengthened the inspection and examination of quarantine areas; promoted communication on disease prevention in blocks and hamlets to detect people with unusual symptoms.
