The Literature exam was assessed as being within the candidates' ability. But to differentiate, candidates need to broaden the issue, highlighting the responsibility of each citizen towards the country.

Put the Fatherland first

Commenting on this year's Literature exam, Ms. Le Thi Huong - Literature teacher at Ky Son Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities said that this year's exam was easy, suitable, and created conditions for students to be able to do the test. I feel very happy because today all the students said they did well on the test, completing the requirements of the test. This year's exam was also within the predictions of many teachers because most teachers screened the exam questions and selected the exam questions to review.

Speaking more about the exam, teacher Le Thi Huong emphasized that with the first two questions of the reading comprehension test, candidates can easily get 2 points and these are questions of recognition and understanding so they are quite simple.

In question 3, the question is also very gentle, students can rely on the poem to confirm the image. Through the poem, it evokes the image of a simple, peaceful, poetic countryside. That countryside, despite its difficulties, always strives forward.

The message of the poem is expressed right from the title "The Fatherland calls my name", thereby also highlighting the responsibility of each person for loving their homeland and country.

In the Social Essay section, teacher Le Huong said that there is a connection with the question in the reading comprehension. The question that the young generation needs to show gratitude to their homeland and country is not a difficult question. Students who do well on this question need to know how to give convincing evidence and know how to relate to themselves. Love for the homeland and country is not through theory but through practical actions, must know how to contribute and build. Especially for students, they must constantly study and strive.

In addition, for capable students, they must also know how to connect and expand the issue, reflecting the "brain drain" situation in the younger generation.

With this Literary Argumentation question, candidates will be very excited and feel that it is within their ability because the teacher has reviewed it thoroughly beforehand. However, to get a high score, the essay must draw out 2 main arguments and analyze convincingly.

The first is Mr. Hai's nostalgia for his village when he had to evacuate. Next is his tormented and painful state of mind when he heard that his village was following the West. Between these two states of mind, there is a complex change in the mind of a person who loves his village dearly.

At the same time, candidates must also have an enhanced connection from the change in perception of a specific character, Mr. Hai - also a typical Vietnamese farmer, to the country and the resistance of the nation.

On the one hand, the village was his flesh and blood homeland, with deep affection, but hearing the rumor that the village was following the West, a farmer like Mr. Hai chose the country, chose Uncle Ho, chose the resistance of the whole nation instead of choosing his own village. He decided to take revenge on the village, despite the pain, despite still doubting whether the village was following the West or not. He hid himself in pain and resentment.

Mr. Hai's mood swings are also a matter of belief, when forced to choose, the Fatherland must be put first. That is also the responsibility of a farmer to the country when standing between personal interests and group interests. He sacrificed personal feelings to cherish and protect the Fatherland.

According to teacher Kim Huong, modern society causes young people to have many ideological divisions, many of them live in a distorted way, are not aware of their responsibilities to their homeland, their families, and have no aspirations or ambitions. The exam helps students look back at themselves once again and highlight the responsibilities of youth.

Ms. Huong also said that she had given similar exam questions to her students many times, such as: youth and responsibility to the homeland in today's era, and students' will to live. Through the students' actual work, most of them did well in the requirements of the questions. They also knew how to make connections to make their writing more vivid and practical.

With the Literary Essay, teacher Kim Huong affirmed that the exam questions were appropriate to the country's situation, especially in the context of Vietnam celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory. The work "The Village" by writer Kim Lan describes the mood of Vietnamese farmers in the early years of the resistance war against France.

This is also a new development of writer Kim Lan when upgrading the feelings from love for the village to love for the homeland and country. Writer Kim Lan is considered a "storm bird in literature" and this short story clearly shows his style and thoughts.

With this test, according to teacher Kim Huong, it is not difficult to complete the test. But to differentiate students, they need to know how to expand the problem.

According to the Department of Education and Training, in the first exam session of Literature, the whole province had 44,689 candidates registered to take the exam. The number of absent candidates was 62.
The exam took place normally, safely and in accordance with regulations, without any other unusual incidents. No candidates violated exam regulations.
