(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 5, candidates in the remote mountainous district of Tuong Duong took the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year. This is an important exam, so not only parents, but many teachers directly traveled dozens of kilometers to take students to the exam site.

According to records at the exam site of Tuong Duong 1 High School, the candidates participating10th grade entrance examHigh school students for the 2023-2024 school year have been present very early. Not only the students, but also the parents and teachers.

Living in Ca Moong village, Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong, to get to the exam site, Lu Van Hoai and his child had to walk for nearly 1 hour to the pier, then travel by motorboat for more than 1 hour, then take a bus for nearly 20km more to get to the exam site of Tuong Duong 1 High School.

Mr. Hoai shared, “The road is long and dangerous, the family’s conditions are difficult, and there is still a lot of work on the farm. However, I still arrange my work to take my child. Since he was little, he has only stayed in the village and never gone out, so I am worried if he goes alone. Moreover, I also want to go to encourage him to do better in the exam. Honestly, I was very worried about him going to the exam, but when I came here and saw so many teachers, I felt somewhat reassured.”

Only by witnessing the reality can we see that the love that teachers in the highlands have for their students is not much different from that of their parents. Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong, a teacher at Nhon Mai Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, was present very early to give instructions to students before entering the exam room.

Teacher Nguyen Cao Cuong said: "The students are all children of ethnic minorities, many of them are in difficult circumstances. Some of the students' parents cannot take their children to the exam for various reasons. In order to promptly encourage and remind them before and during the exam, the school has assigned teachers to take them to the exam."

I found the teachers very enthusiastic, guiding my father and I about where to eat, where to stay, how to do the exam procedures, and accompanying the students at the exam locations.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Son - Principal of Huu Khuong Ethnic Boarding Secondary School shared: "Many parents, partly due to difficult economic conditions, partly because they work far away, cannot take their children to the exam. If the school leaves the children alone, it will be unbearable. Therefore, the school has mobilized teachers, each with their own job: some are responsible for picking up the children from home to school, taking them to the exam, some are responsible for food and accommodation, each with their own job to ensure that all students participate in the exam and do well on the test."
