Young man sentenced to life in prison for killing neighbor on suspicion of cutting off cow's tail

(Baonghean.vn) - Hoa was catching frogs in a stream when he encountered Mr. Hue. Because he suspected Mr. Hue of cutting the tail of his family's cow, Hoa beat Mr. Hue to death on the spot.

On the morning of November 30, the People's Court of Nghe An province opened a first-instance criminal trial of defendant Lu Van Hoa (born in 1985, residing in Bua Lau village, Chau Tien commune, Quy Chau district) prosecuted for the crime of "murder".

According to the indictment, on the evening of August 25, 2017, Hoa went from his house to the Huoi Huong and Huoi Ca areas to catch frogs. When he reached the Huoi Kem area of ​​Hong Tien 1 village, Chau Tien commune, Quy Chau district, he met Vi Van Hue (born in 1985, residing in Hong Tien 2 village, Chau Tien commune, Quy Chau district) walking in the opposite direction.

Because Hoa suspected that Mr. Hue had used a knife to cut off the tail of the family's cow, she had the idea of ​​beating Mr. Hue. Hoa turned off the flashlight on her head and walked upstream about 1 meter with the intention of not being detected by Mr. Hue.

When he caught up with Mr. Hue, Hoa took a wooden stick and hit Mr. Hue hard on the head, causing Mr. Hue to collapse to the ground. Not stopping there, Hoa continued to hit Mr. Hue on the head with a rock. After committing the crime, Hoa continued to catch frogs. Mr. Hue was later found dead by local people. At 7:30 a.m. on August 29, Hoa went to the police station in Quy Chau district to surrender.

In court, Lu Van Hoa confessed to all his crimes. Considering that his actions were of a hooligan nature, the panel sentenced Lu Van Hoa to life in prison, ordered him to compensate the victim’s family 130 million VND and provide monthly support for Mr. Hue’s mother 300,000 VND.
