Two brothers from Nghe An went to Ha Tinh to "steal" 30 taels of gold.
Due to lack of money to spend, Vuong invited his brother Thinh from Vinh City to Ha Tinh to steal property. During the night, Vuong broke into a store, stole 30 taels of gold and escaped.

On May 10, the People's Court of Ha Tinh province opened the first instance trial of the defendants Duong Van Vuong (born 1968) and Duong Van Thinh (born 1965), both residing in Hung Chinh commune, Vinh city, Nghe An province, for the crime of "Theft of property".
According to the indictment, on April 22, 2017, to earn money for himself, Vuong used his phone to text his brother, Duong Van Thinh, inviting Thinh to go to Hong Linh town (Ha Tinh) to steal property.
The next evening, Vuong brought a flashlight and a pry bar prepared in advance to meet Thinh and the two of them rode a motorbike together to Hong Linh town.
When arriving in Hong Linh town, Thinh rented a motel room and waited, while Vuong broke into the Nga Bau gold shop (in Bac Hong ward, Hong Linh town) and stole 30 gold bars of various types (worth more than 458 million VND) and then escaped.
Then, the two brothers Thinh and Vuong brought the stolen property home to hide.
In a short time, the Hong Linh Town Police Department verified and clarified the culprit and urgently arrested Vuong. At the same time, they summoned Thinh to fight, promptly seized all the stolen gold and returned it to the victim.
During the investigation, Vuong also confessed that from November 2014 to January 2016, he committed 4 thefts in Ha Tinh city, stealing a total of nearly 400 million VND. Vuong had spent all the money and property from these thefts on his own.
Vuong has two previous convictions for theft, two previous convictions for robbery and gambling; Thinh has two previous convictions and one previous conviction for theft.
After considering the circumstances, the People's Court sentenced Duong Van Vuong to 14 years in prison and Duong Van Thinh to 7 years in prison for the above crimes.
