(Baonghean.vn) - Tuong Duong district police caught Nguyen Thi Hien in the act of storing a package in her bedroom which, through examination results, was found to be Nitrocellulose propellant, an explosive material, often used as a propellant for various types of bullets.
On December 17, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Phuc Tu - Head of Tuong Duong District Police said that he had handed over the case file and subjects related to the case of "Illegal storage and trading of explosives" to the Provincial Police Security Investigation Agency to continue investigating and handling according to authority.
Previously, on November 29, the Tuong Duong District Police working group caught Nguyen Thi Hien (born in 1972), residing in Tam Dinh Commune, Tuong Duong, in the act of storing in her bedroom a white potylene package containing dark blue powder and a potylene package containing black cylindrical tablets.
The results of the forensic examination by the Institute of Criminal Science of the Ministry of Public Security showed that the evidence seized from Nguyen Thi Hien was Nitrocellulose propellant, a group of explosive materials, often used as a propellant for various types of bullets, weighing 5 kg.
At the investigation agency, Nguyen Thi Hien confessed that because a customer ordered 4 kg of explosives, on November 26, Hien contacted Tang Thi Tam (born in 1969, residing in Muong Xen town, Ky Son) to order 5 kg of explosives for 3.5 million VND.
On December 5, the Investigation Police Agency of Tuong Duong District Police initiated a case and prosecuted Nguyen Thi Hien for “Illegal possession of explosives”. Defendant Tang Thi Tam was prosecuted for “Possession and trading of explosives”.
Currently, both defendants are being subject to preventive measures prohibiting them from leaving their place of residence.
