Yesterday, the Ministry of Public Security issued a decision to temporarily suspend more than 10 people, including the warden, deputy warden and officers of the T16 detention camp, for their responsibility in allowing two death row inmates, Le Van Tho (aka Tho “sút, 37 years old) and Nguyen Van Tinh (28 years old), to escape.

The leader of the General Department of Police, Ministry of Public Security said that the warden of the T16 detention camp who was temporarily suspended from work is Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Trong Hai.
The temporary suspension of Mr. Hai and other officials is to request review, clarification of responsibilities and strict handling.
Also according to the leader of the General Department of Police, the Ministry of Public Security has appointed a department head of the Office of the Investigation Police Agency (C44, Ministry of Public Security) as the new supervisor of T16 to replace Mr. Hai.
