Thousands of people attended the great bell casting ceremony at Ba Nang Pagoda.
(Baonghean.vn) - In order to meet the religious and belief needs of the people, Ba Nang Pagoda in My Son Commune, Do Luong District held a ceremony to cast a large bell weighing 1.2 tons.
On April 24, Ba Nang Pagoda solemnly held the Great Bell Casting Ceremony. Attending the ceremony were Most Venerable Thich Chon Te - Chief of the Executive Committee - Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS - GHPGVN) in Thua Thien Hue province; Most Venerable Thich Minh Hai - Chief of the Office of the Executive Committee - GHPGVN in Nghe An province, along with monks, nuns and thousands of Buddhists inside and outside the province.

Ba Nang Pagoda in Hamlet 9, My Son Commune is one of the ancient pagodas in Do Luong District, built a long time ago; worshiping Buddha and the Three Holy Mothers. Since ancient times, the pagoda has been a place for religious activities of the local people.

After hundreds of years of existence, the pagoda was damaged, leaving only traces at the foot of the mountain. In 2013, the pagoda was restored with a spacious main hall and beautiful landscape. In order to meet the religious and spiritual needs of the people, the pagoda continued its Buddhist activities and held a ceremony to cast the great bell.

In a solemn atmosphere, Buddhist monks and followers performed a blessing and purification ceremony, praying that the casting of the great bell would go smoothly. According to the design, the great bell of Ba Nang Pagoda will weigh 1.2 tons and be 1.7 m high, constructed by the casting team of Hue city. The cost of casting the bell is about 500 million VND, donated by Buddhists and benefactors near and far.

It is known that after casting the bell, the pagoda will build a number of important items to embellish Ba Nang Pagoda to become more spacious, becoming a place for religious activities and beliefs of the people in the area. In recent years, along with the process of building and embellishing the worshiping facility, Ba Nang Pagoda has initiated many charity programs to share difficulties with the poor people in and outside the district.
