Passengers through Vinh Airport increased sharply during Lunar New Year
(Baonghean.vn) - In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year 2020, the number of passengers passing through Vinh Airport increased dramatically, with the number of take-offs and landings doubling compared to normal days.

According to Vinh Airport, the service period for Tet Canh Ty is divided into 2 phases, before and after Tet. Phase 1 is from December 25 to 29. On average, there are 82 takeoffs and landings per day. The peak after Tet is from January 2 to 16. The peak day reaches over 100,000 passengers in both directions.
Like road, air travel also has a trend of deviation, before Tet, passengers mainly return; on the contrary, after Tet, passengers depart. The increase in flights is mainly concentrated on the Ho Chi Minh - Vinh - Ho Chi Minh route (by 4 airlines: Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air, Bamboo Airways and Jetstar Pacific).

Mr. Phan Dang Bao Quang - Chief of Office of Vinh Airport shared: To improve service quality, prevent traffic jams and overload, Vinh Airport has implemented a series of solutions. Preparing for the peak season of serving customers during the Lunar New Year, we proactively coordinated with units operating at the airport to develop a service plan. On this occasion, Vinh Airport mobilized 100% of its staff to serve.

To ensure security, safety, and service quality against luggage and cargo theft, Vinh Airport proactively coordinates with police and military agencies and units to strengthen inspection and supervision to ensure security and order in the airport area; impose fines or tow vehicles parked for more than 3 minutes at the airport's passenger pick-up and drop-off hall.
In addition, arrange, organize, and streamline traffic reasonably to facilitate passengers to pick up and drop off in the Port area; Strengthen inspection and supervision of runways, taxiways, and aircraft parking areas...
In 2019, after being expanded, the passenger volume through Vinh Airport grew strongly, reaching more than 2 million passengers; there were 13,000 take-offs and landings. It is expected that the take-offs and landings and the number of passengers in 2020 will increase by 4 - 5%.
