(Baonghean.vn) - With his stubborn nature and sophisticated and cunning tricks... Thang could not fool the detectives of the Drug Crime Prevention Team of Quy Hop District Police. With his outstanding achievements, the Task Force has just been awarded by the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the Provincial Police.

Previously, at around 7:00 p.m. on July 14, 2020, in Nghia Xuan commune (Quy Hop), Quy Hop district police caught red-handed Nguyen Sy Thang (born in 1991), residing in Lien Hiep hamlet, Nghia Lien commune (Nghia Dan) for the act of "Illegal drug trafficking”, seized evidence includes 10 kg of crystal meth, 1 car and some other related evidence.

Clue

Major Ngo Anh Tuan - Chief of Quy Hop District Policesaid: In early May 2020, a drug trafficking and illegal transportation line appeared from the Lao border through Quy Hop district to the southern provinces for consumption.

The subjects in this ring operate very sophisticatedly, often changing locations, taking advantage of rugged mountainous terrain and deep forests. When there is movement, the subjects quickly hide, causing difficulties for the police force's fight. Faced with that situation, the leaders of Quy Hop District Police directed the establishment and determination to destroy the largest drug case of 620M ever.

Officers and soldiers of the Criminal Police Team on Crime, Economy, and Drugs (HS-KT-MT) have proactively grasped the situation, organized widespread information collection related to criminal activities of illegal drug trafficking and transportation to develop plans and combat strategies to combat and prevent this type of cross-border crime.

Through the work of grasping the situation and using basic professional measures, on July 14, 2020, detectives of the Criminal Police Team on HS-KT-MT of Quy Hop District Police discovered Nguyen Sy Thang, who had many suspicious signs of illegal drug trading and transportation. Immediately after that, all of Thang's movements were caught in the "sights" of the detectives.

With great determination, on July 14, the detectives collected all the information and clearly identified him as a subject who regularly transferred money into accounts for subjects in Laos to buy and sell drugs. They secretly transported illegal drugs from the Lao border - the area adjacent to Tuong Duong district - through Quy Hop district and then transferred them to the southern provinces for consumption to make illegal profits.

Conducting the consolidation of relevant information and documents, and finding that there was a basis, the leaders of Quy Hop District Police decided to establishproject620M aims to concentrate forces, means and synchronously use professional measures to fight and arrest.

The task force quickly divided into many working groups, divided into "hot" areas to monitor and track Nguyen Sy Thang's movements. During the tracking process, the task force determined that he had just received 2 foam boxes at the Lao border - the area adjacent to Tuong Duong district and was preparing to rent a car to transport them for sale.

The task force quickly met to discuss specific combat plans; arranged secret working groups to lie in ambush at locations with favorable terrain for arrest as well as ensuring absolute safety for the entire force and surrounding people.

Lift the net

When renting a car to transport the above drugs to Quy Hop at noon the same day, the detectives reported that Thang only brought 1 kg of drugs that had been divided at the border to sell right there to get money to spend, the remaining 9 kg he sent to the South to sell and is currently not in Quy Hop.

The problem for the task force now was to capture all 10 kg of drugs. Because the task force had anticipated that if they decided to solve the case at that time, they would only be able to find 1 kg, so they decided to change the time to solve the case to the evening.

Continuing to monitor and follow Thang to Nghia Lien (Nghia Dan) section, he saw the subject contact a passenger bus in circulation to send "goods" to the South. The passenger bus did not accept, so Thang returned to Quy Hop, near the C8 - Minh Hop intersection (Quy Hop) and called a passenger bus in Nghia Hong commune (Nghia Dan) to go to the South. At that time, a shuttle bus of the bus company was waiting to pick him up. Thang took a motorbike to get a styrofoam box to send to the shuttle bus, and the subject took the remaining 1 kg styrofoam box back to Quy Hop. At this time, the Task Force decided to "spread the net" to catch him.

At this time, a team followed the bus station in Nghia Hong (Nghia Dan), a team followed the shuttle bus and a working group followed and arrested Thang at Dinh bridge (Tam Hop - Quy Hop) and seized 1 kg of crystal meth. A search of the shuttle bus resulted in the seizure of an additional 9 kg of crystal meth.

At the police station, Thang initially stubbornly refused to admit his crime. However, with a fierce fighting spirit and many undeniable evidences and documents presented by the Criminal Police Team on HS-KT-MT, the subject had to bow his head and admit his crime.

Currently, the district police force has transferred the case to relevant units to continue expanding the case, clarifying the behavior of other related subjects for handling according to the provisions of law.

The successful destruction of the largest drug case ever in Quy Hop district once again affirms the spirit of determination to fight and prevent all types of crime, especially drug crimes, of the Quy Hop district police force.
