Veteran Business Association donates 32 gratitude houses in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - At the Executive Committee Conference held in Vinh City, the Vietnam Veterans Entrepreneurs Association said that the association will donate 32 gratitude houses in Nghe An, each worth 60 million VND.

On the morning of March 18, in Vinh City, the Vietnam Veteran Entrepreneurs Association held the second executive committee meeting for the 2018-2023 term to evaluate the results in 2018 and deploy tasks for 2019.

Attending the conference were Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duoc - Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association. On the side of Nghe An province, there was comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Over the past 5 years of establishment, the Vietnam Veteran Entrepreneurs Association has always maintained and promoted the tradition of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers”, united, strived, closely followed the policies of the Party and the State, been proactive and creative, and promoted production and business. The entire Association currently has nearly 8,000 enterprises, more than 1,500 cooperatives, nearly 2,900 cooperative groups and more than 79,000 farms, ranches, and service businesses owned by veterans.

In 2018, the total revenue of the Association reached nearly 60,000 billion VND, paying over 5,000 billion VND in taxes to the State. Members have also created jobs for over 550,000 workers. In addition, the activities of "Repaying gratitude" and social charity continue to be promoted effectively and practically. The Association has also eliminated 23,000 poor veteran households.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Thanh Quy briefly informed about the socio-economic development situation, the potential advantages of the province; highly appreciated the role of veterans in general and veteran entrepreneurs in particular for the locality.

The speech of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duoc acknowledged the great contributions of the Vietnam Veteran Entrepreneurs Association in the past time; at the same time, he hoped that in the coming time, the Association would focus on a number of key tasks, including building a strong association in all aspects.

Strengthen inspection and supervision. Protect the legitimate rights and interests of members.

Promote the emulation movement “Exemplary veteran entrepreneurs, good production and business”, increase the exchange and promotion of products of enterprises in the Association, help each other develop. Besides, carry out well and effectively the movement of gratitude, social charity….

The Vietnam Veterans Entrepreneurs Association also agreed on the Operating Regulations of the Executive Committee, Term II; approved the assignment of tasks in the Standing Committee, Standing Committee and consolidated and perfected the Association's Professional Committees and Emulation Clusters.

On this occasion, the Association awarded Emulation Flags to 7 groups and Certificates of Merit to 16 individuals who had outstanding achievements in the Association's activities.
