Free support for patients with hypertension and diabetes at Vinh City General Hospital
(Baonghean.vn) - On June 24, Vinh General Hospital in collaboration with Servier Vietnam Company opened the "First Day" Consulting Room to raise awareness, understanding and provide free support for patients with hypertension and diabetes; helping them change their habits and control the disease effectively.
Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Luyen Van Trinh - Head of Medical Affairs Department, Department of Health; Dr. Pham Van Son - Deputy Director of the Hospital; leaders of departments/offices; Mr. Vu Quang Truong - Deputy General Director of Servier Company in the Northern region, officers, project management specialists, and patients with hypertension and diabetes being treated at the hospital.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Pham Van Son - Deputy Director of Vinh City General Hospital said: Currently, the hospital has more than 4,000 patients with high blood pressure and diabetes being monitored and treated. Due to the pressure on the number of patients, the time for doctors to answer patients' questions about treatment, nutrition, lifestyle... is limited. With the goal of providing comprehensive care, aiming at maximum patient satisfaction, the "First Day" consultation room was put into operation.

Accordingly, after being examined and consulted by specialists, patients will be referred to the “First Day” Examination Room. At the Consultation Room, nurses will advise, provide information about the patient’s illness and guide the process of measuring blood pressure, blood sugar and insulin self-injection techniques, answer questions, distribute disease information leaflets, remind patients to return for check-ups, comply with treatment, etc.

With this model, Vinh City General Hospital hopes to save waiting time for patients, reduce pressure on consulting doctors, improve quality, treatment efficiency and patient satisfaction.
