Mau Lake spills over to cope with the impact of storm Mangkhut

At this time, Vuc Mau Lake (Quynh Trang Commune, Hoang Mai Town) has a water level of 20.07 m.

According to the forecast, the weather in the coming days will be affected by storm Mangkhut, therefore, Hoang Mai Irrigation Enterprise will discharge spillway according to regulations; discharge from 01 spillway gate, discharge flow of 30 m³/s – 50 m³/S.

The discharge will start from 9:00 a.m. on September 15 until the water level reaches the process level of 19.5 m. With a low discharge flow, it will not affect production and daily life in the downstream area.

Mr. Pham Hong Phu - Deputy Director of Hoang Mai Irrigation Enterprise said: Before releasing the spillway, the unit informed 11 wards and communes in the area. During the spillway release, depending on the weather and water flow to Vuc Mau Lake, the unit will operate the spillway gates according to the approved process; by the end of September 17, if there is no rain, the spillway gates will be closed.
