Students in the highlands of Nghe An draw pictures on bamboo products to give to their mothers and teachers on October 20th.
(Baonghean.vn) - To celebrate Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20) and help students practice weaving skills and develop their painting talent, Luu Kien Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, Tuong Duong district organized a painting contest on bamboo and rattan products, attracting a large number of students to participate.

Students participating in the contest will have to go through 2 rounds. In the first round, students will weave their own products and draw on them. After the first round, the Organizing Committee will select 22 students with excellent works to continue to the second round to choose the First, Second, and Third prizes. Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dung, an art teacher at Luu Kien Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, said: "Unlike painting on paper or stone, painting on bamboo products such as fans, trays, fish baskets... is much more difficult. Because the surface of woven products is not as smooth as paper or stone, it is very difficult to use a brush." |

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung - Principal of the school said: "Through the contest, not only will it help students develop their painting talent, but it will also educate them about environmental protection, love for their homeland and country, especially how to express their feelings for their grandmothers, mothers, and sisters for male students." |
