The 2022 high school graduation exam is scheduled to be held on July 7 and 8 with 4 subjects, including 3 independent exams: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and 1 combined exam (Natural Science or Social Science) chosen by the candidates. As the preparation days for the exam are approaching, high schools in the province are still regularly organizing review sessions for 12th grade candidates. Photo: My Ha |

At Nam Dan 1 High School, most candidates register for the university entrance exam. This year, due to many changes in the university entrance exam method, the pressure is quite heavy on 12th graders, especially in district schools. Instead of using admission methods such as taking competency assessment tests or applying for admission using foreign language certificates, students here still use the traditional method of applying for admission based on high school graduation exam scores. Meanwhile, the quotas of universities using this method are getting smaller and smaller. Photo: My Ha |

During the “sprint” period from the end of the second semester to the graduation exam, schools focus on giving students practice test questions according to the structure of the Ministry of Education and Training. At the same time, they build a test bank for teachers to review with students to overcome knowledge “gaps” suitable for each student. Photo: My Ha |

Chemistry review time for students at Kim Lien High School. This year, the school has nearly 200 students registering for the combination of Natural Sciences and Chemistry, which is also the university entrance exam subject of many candidates. In order for candidates to review effectively, right from the first lesson, teacher Hoang Danh Hung instructed students on how to do the test effectively and appropriately for each subject. Teacher Hung also said: For students taking the test only to get a graduation certificate, their score will fluctuate from 5 to 7 points and they will focus on reviewing the first 28 questions of the test within 50 minutes. The second group is students who will register to take the test to get university entrance scores, so the requirements of the test need to be higher, they must be able to do applied and high-level applied exercises. For this group of students, we will classify candidates to spend time reviewing, solving questions and guiding them to do more difficult exercises. Photo: My Ha |

The exam review schedule is quite tight, plus studying 7 subjects at the same time makes students stressed. However, by dividing the school into small groups to review for each subject, it helps students review more effectively. Photo: My Ha |

Student Ha Van Hiep (Tay Son hamlet, Chau Thai commune, Quy Hop district) will register for admission to Da Nang University of Technology this year and he is quite confident in his knowledge. However, entering the graduation exam, Hiep is most worried about English because this is his weakest subject, in the most recent mock test Hiep only got 5.25 points. Preparing for the important exam for more than 3 months, Hiep has not been home and he seems to have not had a single night of full sleep. The dream of going to university is not only Hiep's but also the dream of his whole family... and Hiep does not want his parents to be disappointed in him. Photo: My Ha |

As an English teacher, Ms. Le Thi Huong said that before the exam, not only students but also teachers are under a lot of pressure: English is the subject with the lowest results in our school because the input of students is very low, many students only know about foreign languages when entering grade 10. Therefore, at this time, I have to tutor each student individually, and I will supplement the parts that students lack so that they do not lose points. Our goal is to raise the average score in English from 5.65 to 5.75 points and still be in the top of the province. Photo: My Ha |

In addition to providing knowledge to students, teachers also regularly encourage them to create a good mentality for them to study effectively. Teacher Ho Thi Hoi - teacher at Ethnic Minority Boarding School No. 2 said: For boarding students, it is very difficult for them to live far from home, so if teachers share and accompany their students, of course the students will not let them down. This year's graduation exam has many adjustments, including adjusting priority points for ethnic minority students and students in remote areas. However, at this time, it seems that students do not care much about this issue because their goal is to do well on the exam, get high scores and have many opportunities to be admitted to universities. That determination has also given them the strength to overcome difficulties and confidently enter the 2022 High School Graduation Exam. Photo: My Ha |
In preparation for this year's exam, the Department of Education and Training has also requested schools to focus on reviewing and classifying grade 12 students into groups: excellent, good, average, weak, poor, and at the same time proactively develop a review plan for students in a manner appropriate to the conditions of each school and each group of students to improve the quality of the exam.
According to the plan, from June 22 to 27, the Department of Education and Training will organize free online mock exams for all candidates. At the same time, it will open an electronic system so that students can review online and access the exam bank to do the exams themselves.
