YUMUN'24 Model United Nations Conference in Nghe An

Model United Nations (MUN) conferences are increasingly attracting young people around the world. In Vietnam, although only introduced in recent years, MUN has become an ideal playground for students in big cities and has gradually spread to other provinces and cities such as Phu Tho, Nam Dinh, and especially Nghe An and Ha Tinh.

With the name Youth Unity Model United Nations (YUMUN), the YUMUN Model United Nations Conference was born with the goal of bringing the Model United Nations Conference model to young people in Nghe An and Ha Tinh.

Over the years, with passion and enthusiasm, along with the strong development of MUN in this region, YUMUN hopes that the young generation will confidently become global citizens, self-reliant, responsible and have a correct view of issues at home and in the world.

From the first program in 2018, through 5 seasons, YUMUN is not only a place for young people to express their personal colors through intense and dramatic negotiation sessions, but also an environment for them to practice necessary skills in life such as negotiation skills, negotiation skills, teamwork skills, leadership skills...

Moreover, YUMUN is a bridge connecting young people with the surrounding society, helping young people have diverse and correct awareness of current issues in the world to contribute to building a dynamic and responsible young generation.

Entering its 6th year of organization, YUMUN'24 is a special combination of Phan Boi Chau Model United Nations Union (United Nations Model Club of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted) and Ha Tinh Gifted Model United Nations Club (United Nations Model Club of Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted).

In addition, there were guests from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and the Diplomatic Academy. The program was held for 3 days from August 3 to 5 with the main theme "Awakening Dawn Avenue: The Resonance of Hope".

Through this, YUMUN'24 hopes to guide delegates to envision a world where collective action, courage and innovation drive us forward.

In this program, 4 councils (including 1 semi-crisis council and 1 fictional crisis council) named: United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development, International Monetary Fund, United Nations General Assembly and Interstellar Federation will go through many sessions to discuss and speak on many international political and social issues.

It is about dealing with the digital renaissance - Protecting human autonomy and innovation; Combating money laundering, terrorist financing and other issues that threaten the sovereignty of the global economy; Addressing the current situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo; Navigating the rules of space colonization.

Through these activities, members are encouraged to increase their confidence, negotiation skills and critical thinking. This allows them to learn new knowledge about economic, social and historical issues around the world and work together to find solutions to these issues.

The program also creates opportunities to get to know and expand relationships, and exchange with students who share the same interests and talents from all over the country.

At the same time, create an environment for communication and improve language skills, especially English, for students through discussion and research activities of the councils./.
