Provincial Farmers' Association donates cold-proof supplies to livestock in Con Cuong district
(Baonghean.vn) - To avoid heavy losses to buffalo and cow herds during this cold spell, the Farmers' Association of Nghe An province has directed Farmers' Associations at all levels to propagate to members to proactively take measures to prevent and combat the cold for livestock.
On the afternoon of February 20, at Trung Thanh village, Luc Da commune, Con Cuong district, a working delegation of the Provincial Farmers' Association led by comrade Nguyen Quang Tung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association directly came to give households cold-proof supplies for livestock.

Faced with complicated weather developments, to limit damage to agricultural production and protect livestock from the impact of severe cold, the Provincial Farmers' Association Standing Committee has directed Farmers' Associations at all levels to propagate and mobilize farmer members to apply a number of measures to prevent and combat cold for crops and livestock.
In particular, the Provincial Farmers' Association has directed the launch of Farmers' Associations at all levels to carry out the activity of sewing "warm clothes" for buffaloes and cows to prevent cold.

With a "warm coat" made from a tarpaulin, people can help keep buffalo and cows warm on cold days.
It is known that on this occasion, the Provincial Farmers' Association supported 5 mountainous districts including Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, Ky Son, Quy Chau and Que Phong with 4,000 "warm coats" for buffaloes and cows to protect against the cold.

Comrade Nguyen Quang Tung - Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association said: Buffaloes and cows are great assets of farmers. Therefore, strengthening the management and care of buffaloes and cows when the weather turns cold and freezing must be given due attention. However, most farmers living in mountainous districts have many economic difficulties, so livestock barns have not met the requirements.

To avoid serious damage to cattle and buffalo during this cold spell, the Provincial Farmers’ Association has directed Farmers’ Associations at all levels to propagate to members to proactively take measures to prevent and protect livestock from the cold, using tarpaulins or woven sacks, and panels made of various materials to cover around the barns as well as increasing food and making fires to keep livestock warm. When the temperature drops, people need to ensure that livestock are kept warm by wearing warm clothes for cattle and buffalo.
