Today the National Assembly elected the President and Vice President of the National Assembly.

Continuing the working program of the 11th Session, today (March 31), the National Assembly worked in the Hall and devoted all its time to personnel work, perfecting many leadership positions of the National Assembly.

In the position of Chairman of the National Assembly,Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue- Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Secretary of the Capital Command, Head of the Hanoi City National Assembly Delegation is the person recommended for the National Assembly to elect to replace Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, who was dismissed by the National Assembly.

At the beginning of this morning's working session, the National Assembly Standing Committee reported to the National Assembly the results of discussions at the Delegation and explained and accepted the opinions of National Assembly deputies on the expected personnel to elect the National Assembly Chairman and Chairman of the National Election Council.

Next, the National Assembly discussed, voted to approve the list and elected the Chairman of the National Assembly and the Chairman of the National Election Council by secret ballot.

The vote counting results were announced this morning. The new National Assembly Chairman took the oath of office before the National Assembly.
