Quickly mobilize all forces to fight forest fires in Nam Dan district
(Baonghean.vn) - Local authorities, forest rangers, police, and military forces are focusing on extinguishing the forest fire in Thuong Tan Loc commune, Nam Dan district, trying to prevent the fire from spreading.
According to initial information, at around 10:00 a.m. on July 12, a forest fire broke out in Hamlet 1, Thuong Tan Loc Commune, Nam Dan District.
Immediately after receiving the news, local authorities quickly notified and mobilized nearly 200 people including commune officials, organizations, and local people to quickly go to the scene to put out the fire.
At the same time, functional forces including: Nam Dan-Hung Nguyen Forest Ranger Department, Mobile Forest Ranger and Forest Fire Prevention and Fighting Team No. 1, 2, Nam Dan Special-Use Forest Management Board, District Military Command, District Police, Brigade 414 and other supporting forces were quickly mobilized with full equipment and vehicles to the scene to participate in forest fire fighting.
The fire occurred in a mountainous area, formerly a pine and acacia forest that had been burned before, with thick vegetation, combined with strong winds and hot weather, making it difficult to approach and extinguish the fire.
The forces deployed a plan to divide into groups using chainsaws to cut firebreaks and blowers to put out the fires.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Son, Chairman of Nam Dan District People's Committee, as of 5:00 p.m. on July 12, forces were trying to put out the fire. Some fires had been put out but due to strong winds, they flared up again. The district is continuing to direct forces to stay at the scene to deploy fire fighting plans.
