Successfully detonated a bomb with intact fuse left over from the war

Previously, at 4:30 p.m. on June 13, 2023, the Military Command of Block 13, Ben Thuy Ward, Vinh City received a report that a fisherman from Ben Thuy Ward, while pulling a fishing net along Lam River in Block 13, Ben Thuy Ward, discovered an object suspected to be a bomb.

The location where the strange object was discovered is about 500m downstream from Ben Thuy 1 bridge (East to the sea) on the edge of Lam river bank. Upon receiving the news, Military Command of Block 13, Ben Thuy ward quickly sent forces to the scene, blocked off the area suspected of being a bomb, posted signs of the dangerous area, organized 24/7 vigilance to prevent people and fishing vessels from approaching the area suspected of being a bomb, and reported to Vinh City People's Committee and Vinh City Military Command for information and direction.

Upon receiving the news, the Vinh City Military Command organized forces to go to the scene to verify the information and identified the object as abombLeftover from the war, 30cm in diameter, 160cm long and weighing about 250kg, is a rusted anti-personnel bomb with an intact detonator.

After studying and surveying the specific situation, using professional techniques, the Engineering Department - Nghe An Provincial Military Command neutralized the detonator, coordinated with the Vinh City Military Command, the Militia force of Block 13, Ben Thuy Ward and the Militia of Thanh Thuy Commune to salvage and transport the bomb to the bomb destruction site at Khe Trang, Thanh Thuy Commune, Thanh Chuong District to successfully destroy the bomb, ensuring absolute safety for people and property./.
