Ky Son district and 4 districts of Laos agreed on coordination contents.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 12, Ky Son district held a regular meeting with Noong Het, Muong Moc, Muong Kham districts of Xieng Khouang province and Muong Quan district of Hua Phan province of Laos.
At the conference, participating units reported briefly on the socio-economic development situation, issues related to security and order on the border, and assessed the results of cooperation in maintaining political security, order, social safety and ensuring border sovereignty.

In the first 5 months of 2022, the functional forces on both sides of the border regularly exchanged information on the epidemic situation, measures and policies to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic of the two governments. On May 1, 2022, after a long period of closure to implement measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, the Nam Can International Border Gate border market reopened. The districts continued to maintain the twinning activities between 15 pairs of villages on both sides of the border and established delegations to organize visits and give gifts during the traditional Tet holiday of the two countries.
Regarding import and export, the total export and import turnover through Nam Can International Border Gate reached 12.1 million USD, an increase of more than 6.22% over the same period in 2021, of which the export turnover reached 8.5 million USD and the import turnover reached 3.6 million USD.

At the conference, the units agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding, including the following contents: Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Laos diplomatic relations; celebrating the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty; Implementing the Vietnam - Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022 between Ky Son district and Noong Het, Muong Moc, Muong Kham districts, Xieng Khouang province and Muong Quan district, Hua Phan province of Laos and Nam Can International Border Gate cluster; Strengthening information exchange and coordination to ensure border security.
