(Baonghean.vn) - Due to the complicated developments of African swine fever, the People's Committee of Que Phong district issued a directive banning the slaughter and trading of pigs from March 31 in localities with this epidemic.

Mr. Bui Van Hien - Vice Chairman of the District People's CommitteeQue Phong(Nghe An) reported that the District People's Committee has just issued a directive to temporarily suspend the slaughter and trading of pork in communes with African swine fever. Accordingly, from March 31, localities will strictly implement this directive until the local authorities announce the end of African swine fever in the area.

Kim Son town is the locality where the disease has just occurred.African swine fever, is also the area with the most pig slaughtering points in Que Phong district with 3 points. Mr. Hoang Trung Cuong - Chairman of Kim Son Town People's Committee said, implementing the district's official dispatch, on the morning of March 30, the Town People's Committee issued a notice to the blocks, livestock households and pig slaughtering and trading points in the town to strictly implement epidemic prevention and control.

Mr. Nguyen Van Duong - one of the pork traders at Kim Son market said that his family had received a notice banning the slaughter and sale of pork from March 31, and that his family would strictly comply.

"I know that closing the market will result in no income, but I have to strictly comply to end the epidemic soon. Otherwise, the epidemic will last longer and have a greater impact," Mr. Duong shared.

Currently, African swine fever has spread to 6 communes in Que Phong district, including: Thong Thu, Tien Phong, Muong Noc, Quang Phong, Tri Le and Kim Son town./.
