Nghia Dan District rewards 18 individuals with achievements in implementing the Project 'Drug-free communes and towns'
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 15, Nghia Dan district held a conference to review 1 year of deploying, implementing and replicating the Project to build "Drug-free communes and towns" towards the goal of "Drug-free district".

After 1 year of implementing the Project to build "Drug-free communes and towns", with the drastic direction and synchronous solutions of the Party Committee, government and Police from the district to the grassroots level, together with the combined strength of the political system, all classes of people have created many positive results and impacts.
Propaganda work, raising awareness, consciousness, responsibility for law enforcement, fighting against crime and drug abuse were promoted. In particular, all levels and sectors coordinated to organize 75 propaganda sessions in residential areas and schools, attracting over 60,000 participants.

The district and commune police organized 27 forums "Police listen to people's opinions" in communes and towns, with more than 1,200 participants; 5 sessions, more than 25 meetings with prestigious people among ethnic minorities and Catholics, creating consensus and participating in propaganda and mobilizing people of all walks of life to participate in the fight against crime and social evils; organized 3 mobile courts to try drug-related cases and 1 mock trial.
The district installed more than 220 crime reporting mailboxes in blocks, hamlets, commune and town headquarters, and schools; at the same time, set up a "hotline" of the commune-level police to receive information and feedback from the people.

The district police have also directed the commune police to effectively maintain models to ensure security and order, especially 18 models related to the fight against and prevention of drug crimes in 23 communes and towns, such as: the model "Families without lawbreakers or social evils"; "Parishes and religious groups without social evils or drugs, united to build new rural areas"; "Reform and help wrongdoers reintegrate into the community"; "2 build, 3 fight"; "Three no's"; "Security cameras"...
The district, commune and town police have also proactively advised and proposed the implementation of many social security, hunger eradication and poverty reduction programs and projects in Nghia Dan district and the border district of Que Phong; contributing to supporting people to stabilize their lives, stabilize the security and order situation in the area, gradually maintaining the achievements of the Project; presenting 35 gifts worth more than 50 million VND to the People's Committee, the Commune Police and 33 households with especially difficult circumstances in Chau Kim commune, Que Phong district.

The fight against drug crimes was intensified with 2 raids launched by the District Police, which established and effectively fought 4 drug cases, arrested 31 cases, 39 subjects. As for the Commune and Town Police, they fought, discovered, arrested and transferred 8 cases, 9 subjects for prosecution for drug crimes.
After 1 year of methodical and drastic implementation with many synchronous solutions and measures, mobilizing the entire political system and people to participate, promoting the core role of the District Police, communes and towns, from 4/23 communes, up to now, 23/23 communes and towns in the whole district have met the criteria and been recognized as "Drug-free communes and towns".

Speaking at the conference, representatives of the Provincial Police and leaders of Nghia Dan District Party Committee highly appreciated the active participation of the entire political system, including the core role of the District Police force and the grassroots in implementing and replicating the Project to build "Drug-free communes and towns".
Emphasizing the work of "keeping the area clean", ensuring the sustainable effectiveness of the project, and preventing drugs from re-emerging is the central task of the entire political system and the joint participation of all classes of people; therefore, the Party Committee, government and Police from the district to the grassroots level continue to synchronously and comprehensively deploy solutions, promote the achieved results, overcome difficulties, and strive to "clean up" and "keep clean" drugs in the area.
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Nghia Dan district awarded 9 collectives and 18 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing and replicating the Project "Drug-free communes and towns".
