Yen Thanh District (Nghe An) reaches the New Rural Area finish line
(Baonghean.vn) - The voting results showed that 100% of the votes of the members of the Provincial New Rural Area Appraisal Council agreed that Yen Thanh had met the standards of a new rural district. In addition, 14 communes of 5 districts were also voted to meet the standards of a new rural area in this round.

With many dynamic and creative approaches suitable to the actual conditions of each locality, after 10 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction in Yen Thanh district, comprehensive and outstanding results have been achieved.
The rural appearance has many innovations, grassroots democracy regulations are well implemented, social security and order are enhanced, the political system is consolidated and strengthened, production scale and material and spiritual life are increasingly improved.
The total capital mobilized by Yen Thanh district for the construction of new rural areas over the past 10 years is nearly 5.5 trillion VND. Of which: Central budget is more than 242 billion VND, provincial budget is more than 348 billion VND, district budget is more than 277 billion VND, commune budget is more than 1.3 trillion VND, combined capital is nearly 1.2 trillion VND, credit loan capital is more than 203 billion VND, enterprise capital is more than 189 billion VND, people's contribution is more than 1.7 trillion VND.

By the end of 2019, Yen Thanh had 38/38 communes meeting the new rural standards; the district met 9/9 criteria for building a new rural district. Notably, the district no longer has outstanding debts in building new rural areas in basic construction.
According to a survey of people conducted by the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee in Yen Thanh district, 97% of people agree that Yen Thanh district meets the new rural standards.
The voting results of the Provincial New Rural Area Appraisal Council showed that 100% of the members' votes agreed that Yen Thanh met the standards of a New Rural Area district.
Also this morning, with a serious spirit in appraising the NTM criteria in the communes, the Provincial NTM Appraisal Council voted to agree to add 14 communes in 5 districts in the province to meet NTM standards in 2019, including: Nghia Trung (Nghia Dan); Dien Binh, Dien Hai, Dien Lien (Dien Chau); Nghi Van, Nghi Cong Nam, Nghi Hung, Nghi Dien (Nghi Loc); Thuan Son, Ngoc Son, Nam Son, Bac Son (Do Luong); Nghia Hoan, Giai Xuan (Tan Ky).

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu acknowledged the efforts of Yen Thanh district as well as other localities in implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction. However, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the district to continue to implement the criteria of increasing people's income; strengthen the management and maintenance of the traffic system, and have a plan to maintain and repair damaged commune and inter-commune roads. Better implement environmental protection work. Promote the application of new scientific and technological advances in agricultural production; production linkages between enterprises and farmers need to be focused on development.
For the 14 communes that have just been voted to meet the new rural standards, it is necessary to continue to improve the achieved criteria in a synchronous, sustainable and comprehensive manner.
Thus, in 2019, the Provincial New Rural Area Appraisal Council voted to approve 1 district and 21 communes to meet New Rural Area standards.

Localities consider building new rural areas as a regular and continuous task; focus on prioritizing economic development to improve people's material and spiritual life, and limit over-mobilization of people.
