The project to upgrade the Northern Nghe An Irrigation System has a total investment of nearly 274 million USD, of which the Japan International Cooperation Agency funds 84.27%; implementation period is from 2013 to 2019. The project's goal is to restore and upgrade the entire system, ensuring irrigation water for agricultural production for more than 27,000 hectares and providing domestic water for the region.
Particularly in Do Luong, up to now, a number of investment items to repair and upgrade key works, canal systems and facilities have been completed and put into operation to serve production.
This is a key agricultural project that has been highly effective, bringing many benefits to the people. However, during the construction process, irrigation must be ensured, so technical problems are inevitable. In addition, the design still has some unreasonable points, not suitable for the field and not ensuring the needs. There are many differences between the design technique and the actual operation.
