Test results of a couple in Vinh City who had close contact with infected case number 86

Accordingly, the test results of the specimens of Mr. T and Mrs. P (both born in 1951) residing in Dong Vinh Ward, Vinh City were both negative for SARS-CoV-2 virus.

And according to regulations, the couple will continue to be monitored at the Tropical Disease Center, Nghe An General Hospital until the end of the 14-day regulation.

Previously, on the morning of March 21, Vinh City Medical Center received a report from Dong Vinh Ward Medical Station in the area that there were 2 cases in close contact with patient number 86 in Hanoi. They were Mr. T and Mrs. P (both born in 1951). Mr. T had recently been treated for heart disease at Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi, and Mrs. P had been taking care of her husband. Here, the two had close contact with Covid-19 patient number 86, a nurse at the hospital.

On March 19, Mr. T and Mrs. P were discharged from the hospital and returned to their hometown. After hearing about the appearance of patient 86, their family proactively reported to the local authorities and health agencies.

Upon receiving the news, Vinh City Medical Center quarantined Mr. T and Ms. P at the Ward Medical Station and then transferred them to the Tropical Diseases Center, Provincial General Hospital.

On the afternoon of March 21, Nghe An Province Center for Disease Control took blood samples from the couple and sent them to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology for testing.

On the afternoon of March 21 and March 22, Vinh City Medical Center conducted a medical investigation, searching for people who had contact with Mr. T and Ms. P.

Through preliminary investigation, 22 people have been in contact with the couple. After identification, the Center also instructed 22 people to quarantine at home./.
