Opening of the 'Ky Son Win Vietnam Moutain 2024' Marathon

The "Ky Son Win Vietnam Moutain 2024" Marathon (also known as the 2024 Western Nghe An Marathon "Going to the mountainous region - conquering Puxailaileng peak, the roof of the Truong Son range") is a sports tournament with an expanded district scale, attracting more than 800 athletes from provinces and cities in the country and 2 athletes from Colombia and Laos to participate, including many professional athletes, famous names in the Vietnamese running community such as Mr. Doan Ngoc Hai - Former Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, singer Duc Tuan, athletes Nguyen Thanh Phuc, Nguyen Van Long...

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the "Ky Son Win Vietnam Moutain 2024" Marathon, the representative of the Ky Son district leader affirmed: Through the tournament's activities, we aim to strengthen solidarity, contribute to educating revolutionary traditions and patriotism for cadres, people and all participating athletes, to promote the campaign "All people exercise - following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "Olympic Running Day for the health of all people in 2024".

The tournament is also an opportunity for athletes from all over the country and internationally to compete, experience and conquer distances of 42km, 21km, 10km, 5km on routes along the Vietnam-Laos border, with wild beauty, undulating mountains and rivers, and poetic scenery.

This is also an opportunity for Ky Son district to promote and introduce its majestic and beautiful natural landscapes; rich and diverse cuisine; unique traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic groups in Ky Son district to a large number of domestic and international tourists.

Representatives of Ky Son district leaders expressed their hope that from this race, many tourists and investors will know more about Ky Son, see its potential, advantages and connections to help Ky Son develop its economy and society, reduce poverty sustainably, especially stimulate tourism development in the Western region of Nghe An.

At the opening ceremony of the "Ky Son Win Vietnam Moutain 2024" Marathon, delegates, athletes, tourists and locals enjoyed performances imbued with the cultural identity of ethnic minorities in Western Nghe An; and interacted with some athletes participating in the tournament.

The Organizing Committee also presented commemorative medals to sponsors and presented congratulatory flowers to representatives of organizing units. Representatives of clubs, associations, and runner groups also presented gifts to support social security programs of Ky Son district.
