Difficult to deal with man smoking causing forest fire in Nam Dan
(Baonghean.vn) - Although it was discovered that Mr. Nguyen Dinh Truong (in hamlet 7, Nam Tan commune) was smoking and causing a forest fire, it was difficult to handle because Mr. Truong is not a normal person.
Nam Dan police discovered a person using cigarettes to burn the forest.
(Baonghean.vn) - Investigating consecutive forest fires in the area, Nam Dan district police discovered a resident using a cigarette butt to set fire to 1 hectare of forest.
On the afternoon of July 3, Mr. Dao Van Quang - Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Tan commune, Nam Dan district, announced the above information.
Previously, at noon on June 12, Mr. Truong went to the toilet near the forest in Nam Tan commune, Nam Dan district, then he smoked a cigarette and threw the cigarette butt down, causing a fire to flare up and spread throughout the forest.
At that time, two people discovered the forest fire, they both put out the fire and called people to put out the fire. However, due to the hot weather and strong Lao wind, the work of extinguishing the forest fire was difficult.

It was not until 3 p.m. that the authorities were able to extinguish the forest fire. However, the result was that about 1 hectare of forest was burnt down.
Afterwards, Nam Dan District Police investigated and determined that Mr. Truong smoked and caused the forest fire.
“It is very difficult to deal with Mr. Truong because he is receiving social benefits. His father participated in the resistance war against the US, so Mr. Truong was also affected. Mr. Truong was not really sober, but he did not intentionally burn the forest,” Mr. Quang said.
It is known that Mr. Truong is married and has a child. Recently, his wife and child have moved back to live with her grandparents. Every day, Mr. Truong cannot do any farming work.
