Groundbreaking ceremony of the Pineapple Raw Material Area Development Project in the mountainous district of Que Phong
This is an important project of Nafoods Group to invest in building high-tech agriculture in the mountainous district of Que Phong. At the same time, it creates sustainable livelihoods for ethnic minorities in the current period.
February 7, Nafoods Passion Fruit Joint Stock Company(Nafoods Group's subsidiary and Tuan An Agricultural Products Company Limited held the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Pineapple Material Area Development Project in Tam Hop village, Tri Le commune, Que Phong district.
Attending the ceremony were representatives of the People's Committee of Que Phong district, National Defense Economic Group 4; Tri Le Border Guard Station and representatives of related units.

Project to develop pineapple material area in Tam Hop village, Tri Le commune, Que Phong districtis an important step in the strategy of developing Nafoods' key fruit material areas in Nghe An and the Northwest region.
Nafoods was established in 1995, is a leading enterprise in the agricultural value chain, from breeding, planting, processing to exporting fruit juice products, vegetables, tubers, frozen fruits, dried fruits, seeds and fresh fruits.
Nafoods currently operates factories in Nghe An, Tay Bac, Gia Lai, Binh Thuan and Long An, with a capacity of up to 130,000 tons of raw fruit per year.

In Nghe An, Nafoods Passion Fruit Joint Stock Company has been located in Tri Le commune, Que Phong since 2013. Currently, the Company's seed production capacity is 12 million passion fruit seedlings/year. With 12 years of establishment and development in the locality, the Company has created jobs for 200 - 300 local workers with stable income.
Tuan An Agricultural Products Company Limited is a company with many years of experience in the field of cultivation and supply of agricultural products, especially pineapple. The company's headquarters is located in Quynh Luu and has had a close cooperation with Nafoods for nearly 10 years as a strategic partner providing high-quality pineapple raw materials.
In December 2024, Nafoods signed a memorandum of understanding with the People's Committees of Quynh Chau, Tan Thang, and Quynh Thang communes to develop more than 2,000 hectares of Cayen pineapple with more than 100 households.

Following that success, the project to develop pineapple raw material area in Que Phong between the two companies is an important cooperation to ensure stable supply for the factory.Nafoods in Nghe Anand opens up a new direction for developing raw materials in the border commune of Tri Le, Que Phong district that the company wishes to implement.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Trang - Deputy Director of Nafoods Passion Fruit Joint Stock Company said that the pineapple raw material area project in Que Phong not only aims at economic efficiency but also focuses on sustainable development according to three pillars: economy, society and environment. In particular, in the economic field, the project helps increase the value of agricultural products, promote the agricultural value chain and increase stable income for people.

It is expected that in 2025 the project will plant 100 hectares of pineapple.
Initially, 13 hectares were deployed at Bo mountain in Tam Hop village, Tri Le commune with Cayen, MD2 pineapple varieties and some other suitable pineapple varieties.
Nafoods will coordinate with local authorities to organize training programs on modern farming techniques, provide capital support, high-quality plant varieties and ensure stable output for products. At the same time, the project will create more jobs for people, especially ethnic minorities in Tri Le.

For the issue of environmental protection and green agricultural development, Ms. Trang affirmed that according to the plan, Nafoods will implement sustainable farming methods such as limiting the use of agricultural chemicals, applying water-saving irrigation technology, and crop rotation to protect the soil and local ecosystem. In addition, the company will have measures to control soil and water quality to ensure a long-term ecological environment.
With a systematic strategy for developing raw material areas and a commitment to closely working with local people, the Pineapple Raw Material Area Development Project in Tam Hop Village, Tri Le Commune, Que Phong District promises to contribute to making the mountainous district of Que Phong a high-quality pineapple production area. Not only meeting domestic demand but also aiming for export, contributing to bringing the Vietnamese agricultural product brand to the international market./.
