Prosecution of the person who chopped off a series of car rearview mirrors

After many days of criminal detention, the Investigation Police Agency has prosecuted Nguyen Dinh Long - the person who chopped down and broke a series of car rearview mirrors on the road.

On the evening of November 8, Binh Thanh District Police, Ho Chi Minh City announced that they had initiated a criminal case, prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Dinh Long (29 years old, residing in Thanh Da residential area, Ward 27, Binh Thanh District) to investigate the act of property destruction.

As reported by Tuoi Tre Online, Long has no stable job, is married with children but has divorced. He currently lives with his uncle and grandmother in Lot 11, Thanh Da residential area. Long has no criminal record but has a history of drug use and is subject to local drug rehabilitation measures.

At around 2:30 p.m. on October 28, Long was driving an Attila motorbike on Dinh Bo Linh Street (Binh Thanh District) towards Bach Dang Street (Binh Thanh District). On the way, Long held a long homemade knife and chopped off many windshields of cars traveling on Dinh Bo Linh Street.

While driving his motorbike to the internal road of Thanh Da residential area, Long continued to use a long homemade knife to cut and break two more rearview mirrors of two cars. The drivers of the two cars whose mirrors were cut went to the police station to report the incident.

At 6:15 p.m. the same day, the ward police force arrived at Thanh Da residence and brought Long and related evidence back for clarification. Drug testing revealed that Long tested positive for synthetic drugs. Long confessed to having chopped down and broken many car mirrors, without causing any injuries to anyone.
