Prosecuted 9X girl for lending money to hundreds of people at 185% interest rate/year
(Baonghean.vn) - From 2017 until her arrest, Hanh (residing in Ben Thuy Ward, Vinh City, Nghe An) lent money to hundreds of people with a total amount of nearly 5 billion VND, with an interest rate of 3,000 - 5,000 VND/1 million VND/day, illegally earning more than 1 billion VND.
On August 5, 2020, the General Investigation Team (Vinh City Police) has just issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute the defendant Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh for the act of lending at high interest rates in civil transactions.
Continuing to fight against criminal gangs operating related to "black credit" in Vinh city, through the work of grasping the situation, the General Investigation Team (Vinh City Police) discovered a female subject specializing in loan sharking, Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh (born in 1990), residing in Block 3, Ben Thuy Ward, Vinh city. Hanh does not have a stable job, but lends money to many people; many households doing business in Vinh city when facing financial difficulties, all come to Hanh to borrow money at high interest rates.
Faced with the above situation, Vinh City Police established a special project to fight. During the fight, the General Investigation Team focused on finding people who borrowed money from Hanh, collecting documents and evidence to prove the criminal acts of the subject.

By July 30, 2020, the Investigation Committee had detained and urgently searched the residence of Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh, seizing more than 80 related documents including loan papers, money receipts, red books of borrowers...
Initially, the police determined that from 2017 until her arrest, Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh had lent money to hundreds of people with a total amount of nearly 5 billion VND, with an interest rate of 3,000 - 5,000 VND/1 million VND/day (equivalent to 110% - 185%/year), illegally profiting more than 1 billion VND. To conceal the act of lending at high interest rates, with each loan paper, Hanh did not record the interest rate of the loan amount, this interest rate was agreed upon by Hanh and the borrower.
Vinh City Police are continuing to investigate and expand the case.
