Controlling hostages, forcing police to give him guns to commit suicide
With the intention of committing suicide by gun, Phuong kidnapped a hostage and then asked the police to give him a gun to commit suicide.
The People's Procuracy of Buon Ma Thuot City has just approved the Decision to prosecute and the Order to temporarily detain the defendant Nguyen Ngoc Phuong (born in 1992, residing in residential group 12, Tan An ward, Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province) for the crime of Illegal detention.
According to the investigation documents, due to boredom with family matters, Nguyen Ngoc Phuong intended to commit suicide, but Phuong wanted to use a gun to end it. Therefore, Phuong came up with the idea of arresting someone to demand the police give him the gun.
At around 1 p.m. on October 7, Phuong went to the Internet cafe at 172 Nguyen Van Linh, Tan An Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City. After playing video games for a while, Phuong got up to go to the bathroom.

At that time, Phuong saw Y Dang Knul (born in 2002, residing in Buon Eanao B, Ea Tu commune, Buon Ma Thuot city) and two other boys playing video games in the room. Phuong went in and used a Thai knife to control Y Dang to sit still and chased the other two boys out.
Although many people advised against it, Phuong refused to release the man and demanded that the police come and give Phuong a gun with bullets.
At around 6 p.m. the same day, Buon Ma Thuot City Police, in coordination with Dak Lak Province Police, arrived to persuade Phuong to release Y Dang, but Phuong refused to release him and used a metal bar with a Thai knife tied to one end to fight back, while continuing to demand a gun before releasing him.
Phuong used a computer mouse string to tie Y Dang's hands to control him and demanded that Y Dang scream loudly and chase everyone out or Phuong would cut off Y Dang's legs.
After many hours of unsuccessful persuasion, at 8:00 p.m. the same day, taking advantage of Phuong's negligence, the police force rushed in to control the subject and rescue the hostage.
The case is being further investigated and handled by the police.
