(Baonghean.vn) - At around 3:30 p.m. this afternoon (June 26), a pine forest fire broke out in Ru Bac forest area, hamlet 15, Son Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district.

Immediately after receiving the news, local authorities mobilized police forces, district military agencies, and local militia and self-defense forces to the scene to put out the fire.

A representative of the Yen Thanh District Forest Protection Department said: Due to the hot weather, dense pine forest vegetation, and rapid forest fire, firefighting was difficult, so by 6 p.m. the same day, the pine forest fire was under control.

Currently, the authorities are still on duty at the scene, to prevent the fire from re-igniting. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the authorities; at the same time, the extent of the damage is being assessed.
