Ky Son: 102 households received support to build houses after historic flash floods

(Baonghean.vn) - After two recent historic flash floods in Ky Son district, as of November 5, organizations and businesses inside and outside the province have supported 102 households to build new houses, with a total value of 5 billion 880 million VND.

Information from the People's CommitteeKy Son districtAccording to the report, as of November 5, more than 1 month after the historic flash flood, 102 households have received support to build new houses with a total amount of 5 billion 880 million VND.

Of which, the first phase had 14 houses (flash flood occurred on September 4, in the communes: Huu Kiem, Huu Lap, Bao Nam, Bao Thang... supported with the amount of 690 million VND). The second phase (occurredflash floodHistorically, in Ta Ca commune and Muong Xen town, 88 households received support for building new houses, with a total amount of 5 billion 190 million VND.

On average, each household is supported with 55 - 60 million VND. All the housing support money for households is given in the form of bank savings.

In addition, a business has committed to supporting 55 households to build houses with an amount of 2 billion 750 million VND (50 million VND per household).

Mr. Tho Ba Re - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Son district said: Currently, the number of households whose houses were swept away by the flood and collapsed are still having to stay at relatives' houses or rent houses to live in. Therefore, the urgent issue now is that the province needs to soon issue an order declaring an emergency natural disaster, at which time the resettlement area will be given maximum priority so that the district can proceed with the construction of the area.Resettlementon schedule, early handover of land for people to build houses, stabilize life.

Currently, Ky Son district has surveyed and found land that can resettle more than 200 households in Cau 8 village, Ta Ca commune.

Statistics from the People's Committee of Ky Son district show that in the two flash floods that occurred in Ky Son on September 4 and October 2, 55 houses were completely damaged; 49 houses were damaged from 50 - 70%; 61 houses were damaged from 30% -50%; 123 houses were damaged less than 30%; 64 houses were flooded under 1m. 269 houses had to be urgently evacuated.
