These are projects that the Nghe An Border Guard called for and built to support people in the border area.
Also attending were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee Office; Provincial Border Guard; leaders of Tuong Duong district and Nhon Mai commune.
Pha Mut village, Nhon Mai commune is 145 km from the center of Tuong Duong district. The village has 65 households with 371 people, 100% of whom are ethnic minorities; the poverty rate is 90%. The economic life of the people here still faces many shortages, transportation is difficult; the economy mainly relies on agricultural production and exploitation of secondary forest products.

Previously, the road to Pha Mut village was through a stream, but there was only a temporary bridge made of wooden planks. During the rainy season, the stream water rose and cut off the area, causing difficulties in traveling and doing business for the local people. In particular, the education of the children in the village was interrupted.
Understanding the difficulties of the villagers, the officers and soldiers of Nhon Mai Border Guard Station mobilized donations from benefactors and volunteer groups in Ho Chi Minh City to support the construction of the Pha Mut village bridge. According to the design, the Pha Mut village bridge has a load capacity of 3.5 tons, a width of 3m, an I-shaped steel structure, with a total value of 450 million VND. After nearly 2 months of construction, the Pha Mut village bridge was officially put into use.

The inauguration of the Pha Mut village bridge will contribute to the travel, medical examination and treatment of the local people as well as create favorable conditions for students to go to school even during the rainy season. At the same time, it will help improve the living standards and develop the economy of the local people.

Next, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Nhon Mai bridge, spanning over Khe Hy, connecting Nhon Mai village, Nhon Mai commune with Nhon Mai Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities. According to the design, Nhon Mai bridge is made of steel structure, 34m long, 2m wide, with an estimated cost of about 500 million VND supported by volunteer units.

When completed, the project will create favorable conditions for students to go to school, as well as production activities and economic development of local people, thereby further strengthening the solidarity between the army and people, contributing to building a strong and sustainable border area.
