(Baonghean.vn) - Over 15% of women's union members are illiterate, which is a challenge for the Women's Union of Quy Chau district. That is also the reason why, for the past two years, literacy classes have been opened with the aim of equipping women with letters and raising awareness.

What is special is that the teachers in the class are also members of the branches. On October 20, we "witnessed" a class in Na Can village, Chau Hanh commune and were really excited by the enthusiastic learning atmosphere of the members here...

The literacy class of Na Can village was just opened in early September. The students in the class are all members of the women's association, and the oldest person in the class is almost 60 years old.

The teacher in class today is Ms. Luong Thi Tien, a former preschool teacher in Chau Hanh commune.

The class is usually held in the evening to facilitate participation of all women. However, today the class was moved to the afternoon so that after the class there will be a party and exchange program to celebrate Vietnamese Women's Day, October 20.

In Na Can, there are quite a few illiterate women. In the past, due to poverty and limited awareness, few went to school.

The class also includes new brides in the village. In the photo, Mrs. Le Thi Phuong (53 years old) with her daughter Vi Thi Huong (23 years old) and daughter-in-law Lu Thi Ha (18 years old) and grandchild come to class.

Along with literacy, the women's association also coordinates with the Community Learning Center to teach vocational skills and transfer science and technology to women.

Going to class with the teachers are the students in the village. The "extracurricular" class, after each lecture, always attracts a large number of people.
