18 months in prison for selling 25 kg of fireworks

On the morning of December 26, at the People's Committee of Tan Huong commune, Tan Ky district People's Court opened a mobile trial of the criminal case against Nguyen Trong An (born in 1991, residing in hamlet 2, Tan Huong commune, Tan Ky district) for the crime of "Trading in prohibited goods".
According to the indictment, because he wanted to have fireworks to use during the 2019 Lunar New Year and knew that many people would need fireworks, on November 8, 2018, An (a long-distance driver) went to Do Luong town to buy fireworks.
An met an unknown man and bought 17 boxes of 36 fireworks, 6 plastic bags, each bag containing 283 round balls connected to a piece of slow-burning wire for 8,850 million VND.
On November 16, when An was selling the above firecrackers to an unknown man for 12.2 million VND, he was caught red-handed by the Tan Ky District Police and the special police force of Nghe An Province Police. The authorities seized 25kg of firecrackers at the scene.
The People's Court sentenced Nguyen Trong An to 18 months in prison.
