"In Vietnam, just pick up the mic and you're a singer" - a young singer said that not long ago when she started her singing career. That seemingly arrogant statement turned out to have a basis. She didn't need to sing well, didn't need to be trained in vocal techniques, just needed to invest in an eye-catching image, attract a certain number of viewers, and then she would be called a "singer".
Meritorious Artist Tan Minh - Director of Thang Long Music and Dance Theater expressed: "A whole generation, very dangerous, if we are not careful, our children and grandchildren will grow up thinking, this is our country's music and this is all we have, then that is extremely bad".

Singer H - who is known as the "King of Vietnamese Music" was also mentioned in the report. Besides his popular songs, his name is associated with scandals but he boldly declared that he is a "forbidden land" that no one is allowed to touch.
Doctor of Literature Doan Huong said:"The king and queen of Vietnamese music suddenly thought they were real kings and queens. Many times they thought they were above the law, leading to serious incidents like the charity scandal."
Many singers and actors have become kings and queens. There was a study on the three largest online newspapers in Vietnam from 2014-2016. 25% of entertainment news and articles were collected by journalists, the rest were on social networks or provided by artists.
Associate Professor Dr. Bui Hoai Son - Director of the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts said: ''Although the mainstream media is more limited, it also creates conditions for those titles, creating a wave of fame-seeking to become more popular in society. If culture is developed incorrectly from the beginning, it will lead to disastrous consequences in the future''.
Purification from the journalist's pen so that true artists are not harmed. That is not only a social responsibility but also a way for journalism not to lose itself in the chaotic flow of the information world.
