Tornado causes damage in western Nghe An

According to Keng Du Border Guard Station, at around 2:00 a.m. on April 23, a thunderstorm occurred in Keng Du Commune, Ky Son District. The strong winds that occurred late at night caused a lot of damage to local residents. According to preliminary statistics, the thunderstorm blew off the roofs of many houses, but the most serious damage was the Keng Du Commune Health Station, which completely blew off the roof of a row of houses.

As soon as the disaster occurred, Keng Du Border Guard Station, Nghe An Border Guard sent forces to coordinate with local authorities to urgently help people overcome the consequences.

At the same time, a rainstorm accompanied by a tornado lasting more than 30 minutes occurred in Minh Tien and Cham Puong villages, Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district. The tornado caused one house in Minh Tien village to collapse completely and the roof of another house to be blown off. The collapsed house seriously injured Oc Van Bun and Oc Thi Luu, who are currently being treated at the district medical center; the roof of one house in Cham Puong village was blown off.

This morning, the District and Commune Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Steering Committee directly visited and encouraged the affected families and directed the overcoming of consequences so that people can soon stabilize their lives.

Previously, at around 4:00 p.m. on April 21, several communes in Tuong Duong district, including Luong Minh, Luu Kien, and Xa Luong, experienced tornadoes accompanied by hail, with strong intensity, severely damaging many houses.

The hailstorm and tornado lasted for more than 30 minutes, causing damage to 174 houses, including 14 houses in Xa Luong commune, 51 houses in Luu Kien commune, and 109 houses in Luong Minh commune.
