Tornado rips off roofs and breaks trees in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - The storm at 4:00 p.m. on April 30 caused severe damage to many houses and crops in Tan Ky; many rice fields fell in Thanh Chuong; and some trees in Vinh city were broken.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Tien Ky commune, Tan Ky district, the storm caused the roofs of 27 houses in hamlets 5, 6, 9 and 3 to be blown off; the corrugated iron roof of a garage of Tien Ky Secondary School was blown off, 19 hectares of crops were knocked down, and 30 hectares of acacia trees were knocked down.

Immediately after the storm, Tien Ky commune leaders promptly went to the grassroots to inspect and grasp the damage to people's houses and crops in order to find solutions.

In the immediate future, Tien Ky commune has mobilized local forces and means, encouraged people to help each other, arranged accommodation for families whose houses had their roofs blown off; at the same time, helped people re-roof their houses, reinforced their houses, supported people to overcome the consequences, and ensured stable life and production.

Earlier, at around 4 p.m. the same day, a storm also caused a number of trees in Vinh city to fall and break; some power lines were pulled down, causing local power outages in some wards of Le Mao, Trung Do, Hung Loc...
