(Baonghean.vn) - The veterinary agency has just taken samples of 2 pigs that died of disease in Hamlet 9, Nghia Dong Commune (Tan Ky) for testing at the Veterinary Agency of Region III. The results showed that the samples tested negative for African swine fever.

The two pigs that died of disease belonged to Mr. Do Ngoc Minh's family in Hamlet 9, Nghia Dong Commune, Tan Ky District.

Upon receiving the family’s report, the Tan Ky District Veterinary Department took samples for testing. By the afternoon of March 30, the Region III Veterinary Department had the results, concluding that they were negative for African swine fever.

Mr. Le Duc Tinh - Head of the Tan Ky District Veterinary Station said that from March 29 to 31, there were no pigs dying from disease in the district. The district directed Nghia Dong commune and neighboring communes to maintain activities at quarantine checkpoints to control the African swine fever outbreak in a small area, in hamlet 1 of Nghia Dong commune.

Tan Ky currently has more than 42 thousand pigs, including 10 pig farms with a scale of over 100 pigs. The district propagates that people absolutely must not hide the epidemic; if any sick pigs are discovered, they must report to the local authorities for timely handling. At the same time, the district and commune veterinary agencies instruct farmers to prevent African swine fever by cleaning their barns, regularly spraying disinfectants, and sprinkling lime powder./.
